Features

What TIMEperative does today, on Windows and on Android. It is in early access, so new features arrive with almost every release.

Recording time

  • A timer with a break button, on the desktop and in the phone's top bar.
  • Time entries in a list, a week or a calendar; drag an entry to move it or to change its length.
  • Entries that run past midnight, statuses from draft to approved, and an audit trail of every change.
  • Work locations chosen from a list, and a suggestion for your next entry.

Tracking, if you want it

Tracking is off until you switch it on, and what it records stays on your device.

  • On Windows: the apps and windows you used, your browser history, recent documents, and when your PC was in use. Import past days to fill gaps.
  • Calls in Teams or Zoom on Windows: TIMEperative notices when the microphone was in use and offers to record the call.
  • On Android: how long you used which apps, and pages you share to TIMEperative from your browser.
  • Rules turn what was tracked into suggestions for your projects. Hide titles, dismiss or delete what you do not want to keep.

Planning

  • Plan by week and by day, against projects and their work breakdown.
  • Bring in your calendar from Outlook, Google or any calendar link.
  • Compare what you planned with what you did, and keep an eye on budgets.

Working time and key figures

  • Checks against Swiss or German working-time law, and your organisation's own checks.
  • Work calendars with public holidays.
  • A key figures panel beside or below the page: this week, this month, your flex balance and more.
  • Reports and tasks.

Billing and travelling

  • Billing rules round and cap your hours into billable time, per project or for everyone, and an export for billing locks what was billed, so nothing is billed twice.
  • Trips with their legs, mileage rates, budgets and travel requests.

Connections

  • TIMEperative Cloud Hub: send approved entries to your projects and import projects and tasks, with your own login. The Cloud Hub needs the separate TIMEperative.sync app.
  • Calendars: Outlook through Microsoft, Google, and Proton or any other calendar link, read only.
  • Teams chats: how many messages you wrote in which chat and when, never their text.
  • DeepL: translate an entry's description with your own DeepL key.
  • Settings as a file: export the configuration of one installation and import it on another.

Looks and languages

  • English and German, with dates, times and numbers in your regional format.
  • Light, dark or as your system is set.
  • Styles that look like the software around you: Windows, Business Central, Finance and Operations and NetSuite. TIMEperative is not affiliated with these vendors.

Privacy by design

No account, no server of ours, no analytics. Your data stays in a database on your device until you send entries to your TIMEperative Cloud Hub. The privacy policy lists every connection the app can make.
